Gavin Mercer

Gavin Mercer reviews Android games and the claims made about them. He checks every title against the publisher's own listing before writing a word, tests streaming and Remote Play routes on real phones, and calls out fake APK pages that invent versions, sizes and ratings for games that were never released on Android.

Gavin Mercer reviews Android games with a verifier's habit: before playing anything, he reads the publisher's own platform list. That habit is why this site exists in its current form. The Left 4 Dead 2 file that search results promised did not survive ten minutes of checking against Valve's listing, and Gavin's coverage starts from that finding instead of working around it.

How Gavin Tests

Streaming and Remote Play routes are tested on real Android phones, currently a Galaxy A55 on Android 15, a Pixel 8 on Android 16, a Redmi Note 13 Pro on Android 14, an Infinix Note 40 Pro on Android 14 and a Galaxy A13 on Android 12. Campaign and mode guides come from the PC version of the game, played with a controller as most phone streamers will play it.

Coverage

Gavin has checked more than 140 Android game releases and port claims, with a standing beat: famous PC and console games that search results claim are on Android. Left 4 Dead 2 is one of the clearest cases on that beat.
